Payments & Fees

How does payment work?

We collect payment in two instalments to keep things simple:

  • 50% deposit is charged at the time of booking to secure your reservation.
  • Remaining 50% is automatically charged 14 days before your arrival date — this is also when the free cancellation period ends.

You won't need to do anything; both payments happen automatically to the card on file.

What is the security deposit / damage waiver?

On the day of your arrival we place an authorisation hold of $250–$1,500 (amount varies by property) on your payment card. This is not a charge — it simply appears as "pending" and no money leaves your account.

The hold is released within 7 days after checkout, provided there are no damages or outstanding charges. If your bank's app shows it as a deduction, don't worry — it will drop off automatically once released.

How will the charge appear on my statement?

Payments will show on your bank or credit card statement as "Bell Cross Rob" or "BCR Property". If you see either of these and aren't sure what it's for, it's us.

What currencies and cards do you accept?

We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex). Payments are processed in New Zealand Dollars (NZD). International cards are welcome — your bank may apply a foreign transaction fee on their end.

What is your cancellation policy?

Our standard cancellation policy is 14 days prior to arrival — cancellations made before this window receive a full refund of the deposit paid. Different policies may apply depending on the rate you've chosen, so please check your booking confirmation for the exact terms that apply to your reservation.

The Guest App

Guesty For Guests

Your dedicated guest app — everything you need for a seamless stay, right on your phone.

What is the Guesty For Guests app?

Guesty For Guests is the guest-facing mobile app powered by Guesty, the professional property management platform we use to run our portfolio. Think of it as your personal concierge in your pocket — available on iOS and Android.

Once your booking is confirmed, you'll receive a link to access the app (no account creation required — it's tied to your booking).

What can I do in the app?

  • Online check-in — Complete your pre-arrival registration, upload ID if required, and get everything sorted before you arrive.
  • Access codes & directions — Door codes, gate access, Wi-Fi passwords, and precise directions to the property are all in-app, available from the day of your arrival.
  • Property guide — A full digital guide to your property: how to operate the appliances, TV & streaming services, heating and cooling, BBQ instructions, and local tips curated by us.
  • Message us directly — Reach our guest services team via in-app messaging. We're available throughout your stay and aim to respond within the hour.
  • Checkout instructions — Everything you need to know for a smooth departure, so there are no surprises on the morning you leave.

How do I access the app?

You don't need to download anything in advance. After booking, you'll receive a confirmation email containing a personalised link to your guest portal. This opens directly in your browser or in the Guesty For Guests app if you have it installed.

We recommend opening the link a day or two before you arrive so you're familiar with the property details and have the access codes ready.

What if I have a problem during my stay?

Message us through the app — that's the fastest way to reach us. For urgent issues (maintenance emergencies, lockouts), you'll find an emergency contact number listed in your property guide within the app. We're here to make sure your stay goes smoothly.

Are pets allowed?

Policies vary by property. Check the individual property listing for pet-friendly information, or contact us before booking and we'll let you know.
